The Window to my World

Nanuki recently made a post about her druid’s new UI, and I found it pretty interesting. I always find it interesting to see how other people play the game as I’ve spent a bit of time on my UI myself.

I’ve seen everything from sleek, ultra minimilistic UI’s with no buttons showing at all to people still using (and getting along fine with) the default Blizzard UI.

I used to be a default UI user with my needed addons scattered around the screen, but I liked the smooth sleek look of grid so much that I decided to try and make my whole UI look that good.

My UI.

This is what I came up with.

I use Grid for my party/raid frames, Pitbull for myself/target/tot, Bartender and ButtonFacade to make my buttons pretty, and Satrina Buff Frames to mess around with my buffs and debuffs.

Surge of Light!
My favourite addon, however, would have to be PowerAuras. It displays an image on your screen according to conditions you set. For example, when Surge of Light procs on my priest, I see this:

I also have auras set up for when I’m missing buffs like Inner Fire, Power Word: Fortitude, and Divine Spirit. I’ve found it very useful on my paladin to tell me when my seals run out, so I don’t sit there for a few seconds wondering why I can’t judge 🙂

Do you guys have any addons you can’t live without?

  1. I edited out Power Auras awhile back because I was getting frustrated with changing specs and having to activate/deactivate auras — however, I’m now really missing it and have ended up adding multiple addons to compensate for this loss of this one!

Stuf/Grid are currently the core of my UI and I wouldn’t change them in or out for anything — everything else is debatable 🙂

  2. My favourite add on is definitely Vuhdo which is what I’m using for my raid frames. I think I would go into melt down mode and refuse to raid if that add on was broken for a perio of time 🙂

  3. My favorite addon (still) is Baggins. I know it isn’t integral to the UI and to gameplay but it keeps me sane. Organization is my friend!

Thanks for sharing your UI though, I like seeing how others set theirs up – gives me ideas to steal for mine!

  4. Yay, mentioned by the great pink one 😀 *does a little happy dance*
I really like your UI! Clean and I like the fact that your own health & mana bar is close to your target – I’ve chosen a big distance between them and keep forgetting to watch my own health or Mana :\

I have a lot of addons I couldn’t live without! (okay, I could but would be a very sad bunny!)
I love Bartender to make my bars look pretty! And lovin Sexymap and of course Grid, my raid frame of choice! Aaaand Mik’s scrolling Battle Text which is really pretty! Oh and my fishing addons as I love fishing, haha 😀

Keep posting UI screenshots, lovin it! 🙂

  5. It’s interesting how you have grid under your spell bars. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that on a UI before.

    It’s a pretty good idea.

  6. I’m gonna agree with Lath, Vuhdo is my absolute favorite. It saves me so much room. I don’t need a decursive anymore, or raid frames and clique. 🙂
